Apparently this is the town that the Bronte sisters grew up in - although it has now turned into something of a tourist attraction. I love these old time-y types of towns that make you feel like you're in the 1800s...they're kind of depressing with the weather but have some kind of warm feel somehow, especially with a beer and some good hardy English food..

Then Kelsey and I went on this LONG walk and ended up at a bakery called Massie's. Got macaroons and chocolate caramels. Took the bus to La Farine's (another bakery). Got a cupcake and ciabatta. The Sharpsteen Museum - Ben Sharpsteen used to work for Walt Disney and

directed/produced some of the best films EVER! Including Pinnochio, Du

mbo, and Fantastia. Mind you, this is back in the day when they used to have to draw out every single movement - an impressive feat. Here are some of the sketches he made.

Then, he worked on this museum before he died - one of the things was this little old version (circa 1860s) of Calistoga.

A 3.4 million year old petrified tree. It really is bizarre when you touch it and it feels like rock.

MY HAIR

A lot of people have been asking me about my hair (okay maybe I'm asking me about my hair). Why aren't you getting any new weird hairstyles? Why does your hair look so mundane and ordinary and stupid? Why are your ridiculous awkward length bangs in existence? Why do you almost never wear your hair down (w/o barrettes, etc.) For those who don't see me every day, this is what I've been resorting to.

The real reason is because on some bizarre whim, I decided that I want to grow my hair out. My bizarre whim is that... you know how when you look at pictures of previous generations...and their hair...is fucking....ridiculous? Well I've decided that I don't want to look back at my hair and regret it - so I'll stick with the normal natural 'do. I mean it makes sense right? Natural can't be anything to look down upon.

I have some problems with getting to this "natural" look 1) my hair grows slowly 2) my hair grows very slowly 3) I tried to get it cut so that it would look nice long and the woman fudged up major time leaving me with stupid mom hair. ROOD.

So now I'm stuck with a decision - get a super cool awesome new-age hair cut and maybe regret it later on in life or let it grow out slowly and painfully to get what I planned to do.

We started out at a tea store named 'Teance' (this is the only picture I got of the awesome store...mrah).

This was some tea that the barista had to whisk 100 times back and forth for it to be the perfect "frothiness" or something..

After our tea experience we went across the bridge to the city of Marin, where we dined at a Puerto Rican restaurant named 'Sol Food'.

Sure, Kelsey struggled with the focus..

And sure I never get pictures of the parties (usually cas' I'm too afraid to bring my camera in...I mean come on, people+beverages in hand+skewered balance=KATE OUT OF A CAMERA)

So there's a necessity to compromise for pictures on the way/before/not in social situations. lame.

Or maybe I can get a water-proof case for my camera. Now that would be a good investment.

Honestly this is just a random compilation of paintings that I like. I've been fortunate enough to see most of these IRL which is that much more awesome.

Just a little side note - when I lived in France I went to where Vincent Van Gogh painted Starry Night. It's in a small city in France called Arles (where Van Gogh also completed a few more of his well known works like The Night Cafe and another that I'm blanking on right now) and is just as gorgeous as anyone can imagine. There's a unique ambiance about the South of France that is hard to not enjoy and strive to emulate. No one can really understand the magic of it until they've lived/been there. I'll make a post about it in general soon because it's definitely worth seeing and going to.

I brought this up with my father earlier and he simply stated that the democrats weren't doing their job in promoting the health care bill - don't interpret this wrongly, he's a democrat - I definitely see his point though, what the hell? How are the republicans getting far more attention/accordance? Is it propaganda? The media of the United States dictates a lot throughout the world - thankfully, nudity is not on of those. I find it so odd that we have this taboo with nudity, we can watch someone literally die on youtube, oh but no boobs for you! These are such misguided and disappointing antics. Moms make such a big deal about a boob in the magazine or suggestive dancing or nudity on tv...and all the while their son is playing Grand Theft auto - grotesquely killing people. What kind of lesson does this teach your kid? You can kill people, but not see any nude women. Fantastique.

You know, I typically do like cut-offs. Well not necessarily like, but appreciate. However, I think that lately we've taken the concept of "cutting off" too literally. These are a fantastic example of the over-doing it, as these are simply ill-fitting and unflattering. I was also under the impression that Levis cut-offs stayed in hipster territory..

Welcome to my blog Donnez-Moi.

It's almost Spring! However I'm kind of undecided on what to think of this..I like cold clothing better because I get to wear more clothing, and something about wearing more clothing makes me feel more stylish.

I feel as though it's necessary to start preparing and admitting that unfortunately, the cold season is over for a bit, so I might as well start to break out the short dresses and gladiators.
